I just published another article on Entrepreneur.com!
It’s called: 3 Business Lessons I Learned, Believe It or Not, From Watching the ‘Jonas Brothers’ Documentary
I got so inspired about this documentary, that I wrote a blog, pitched an article, followed up for weeks, wrote the article, edited the article to add a bunch of business research and links, and…
The funny thing is that even after all that perseverance and the triumph of publication, I felt hesitant to share it! I was surprised, and then I realized:
I was nervous to admit to my community that I’m into this teen boy band.
I’m an adult!
I’m very successful!
I write for professional publications!
Plus… being married to a professional musician and having all these edgy friends… The Jonas Brothers are as poppy as it gets, and I genuinely wasn’t sure how it would land.
And then I got over myself and texted it to all my besties. I asked them to read it and tell me what they thought.
THAT was the edge for me.
And here’s what I realized:
Being inspired by other people’s stories is a practice that brings me joy and power. I LOVE seeing the greatness in others, and highlighting it for the world. I LOVE celebrating success in all its forms.
And I freaking love pop music too, even – maybe especially – when it’s sung by a band of cute brothers.
It’s true: I contain multitudes.
I loved this documentary, I now love this band, and I loved writing this article.
I hope you love reading it!
Wishing you music and success,
