I have two questions for you today:
- How often does life feel miraculous to you?
- How often do you think about death?
In our day-to-day lives, most of us aren’t asking questions like this.
There’s actually a biological imperative to avoid the truth of life and death. It gets amplified by social media and entertainment. We’re surrounded by constant distractions through TV, marketing, social media, and the cult of “busy” all encourage us to ignore the truth.
And it’s damaging to our souls.
I believe that remembering the truth of our mortality connects us to our authentic sense of urgency. When we know that we don’t have infinite time here, we’re more likely to make the most of the time we do have. It’s a cliché because it works.
Remembering that we will die cures us of our perfectionism, providing us with constant opportunities to practice letting go – so we can appreciate the miracle and LIVE today!
