Do you believe that every time something terrible, catastrophic, frustrating, annoying, or disappointing happens that there is a better pathway that you are being directed to? Do you have that perspective?

There’s definitely places where – both in the abstract when I look at the world – the Holocaust, terrible racism – I still have those edges to my own understanding of the teaching. In my own life, there are totally moments where I’m like, “This fucking sucks, period.” These last sweet six months have just been highlighting that. I believe it – even when I don’t understand how it’s true. Even when I’m still in the like, “This just looks shitty. I don’t know how this could turn out for the better.”
It’s not just that it comes out okay, or that we’re all okay in the end.
It’s like: no, really, this path is better.
This path with all the fucking shenanigans on it – this is the better path.
I’ve been leaning into this teaching for over a decade now. And I can celebrate that I’m starting to fight less for the path I want it to be I am pivoting more quickly. Okay, I see, we’re going this way. I see, I see.
I’m not passive.
I am contributing.
I am collaborating.
I’m just not dictating.
